2024 Public Open Days

Days when we open our gates, run our trains and welcome you to pay us a visit.

Usually on the 2nd Sunday of the month throughout our running season, this gives you the opportunity to visit our site, have a ride on our Miniature Railway and enjoy a pleasant afternoon in our grounds, perhaps over a cup of tea or coffee (available from our Tea Bar). Just turn up, no pre booking necessary.

Key points about open days:

  • On-Site parking is free, and there is no admission charge.
  • Tickets cost £1.00, are purchased on-site and are for a single train journey around our track.
  • Light refreshments are available from our Tea Bar on all open days.
  • Under 3s can travel free of charge but must be accompanied by an adult.
  • We regret we cannot accept babes-in-arms on the trains.
  • We have disabled facilities (access and toilet) and a baby-changing room.
  • Unfortunately, we cannot allow dogs into the site on a Public Running Day (with the exception of guide dogs for people with vision impairment).
  • Easter Sunday: Always a very popular day, this marks the start of our open day season.
  • Mince Pie Run: Our annual Christmas event sees Father Christmas visiting the railway.  We also serve mince pies from our tea bar, in addition to the usual fare.
