The club is always ready to welcome new members and is willing to provide advice and support on a variety of modelling projects and not just on those that involve rails.

We also recognise that many of our model engineering members are getting on in their years and new blood is key to us continuing to be a thriving club. We even have a need for people keen on gardening, pottering around doing general maintenance work or helping out with the open days and other public events we undertake.

So becoming a member can introduce you to a new social environment and open up new opportunities to engage in something different.

Anyone interested in finding out more about the club or its activities are encouraged to:

  • Contact us: see the contact us page.
  • Visit us on any Open Day.
  • Come along on any Thursday evening, from around 7pm.

Thursday evenings are our club night where members meet to chat about various aspects of the hobby and have a cup of tea. The first Thursday of the month is also 'loco night' where members bring along their part-built projects to share progress with others. During the summer we also try to make the most of the weather and quite often there will be an engine in steam.

Tuesdays will generally see members meeting up at the club to do general maintenance tasks, have a chat and a brew of course while Saturday mornings will see people turning up to take on the bigger projects. There is always something to do!

Our annual membership fees are currently set at £45.00 / year for full membership, £30.00 for senior (over 65) membership and £15.00 for juniors. Associate membership for partners of a member is free.
